in my old trailer I put the wires inside then later had to cut them all and start over. If you put them in the body you must be able to get at them. These are the wires the run the lights that get you safely down the road.
On my new trailer I am putting conduit on the under side with connections where with a simple screw driver I can get at them. and if I need to replace any I can run a electric wire tape and run a new one. and if I am on the road I can run the wire on the outside leave the cover uncovered and attach the wire and then fix it later at home. I am doing that because in some california mountains there is a little animal that likes to eat wires. He is really looking for the brake fluid lines on the cars because he loves the taste of brake fluid. But for the most part and if you look under most trailers you will see the wires tied to the frame.
You should also carry a electric repair kit.
caps, electric tape, small volt Meter(digital ones light up in dark) if you know how to use one, extra wire, something to splice the wire with (a sharp blade will do), zip ties or wire, Red Lens tape for broken lens, flash light one for head works best you hands will not be free and holding one in your teeth is not fun, and of coarse spare bulbs unless they are LED's (then you might want an extra)
How ever my marker lights do have the wires in the walls (I have it set up so I can get in the walls if I need.
