PD4045 No Electricity - Advice on connections

Postby Tommy2tone_1999 » Sun Oct 12, 2014 5:02 pm

I have connected all the circuits, but I fear I'm not grounding it correctly. Can some one guide me. Electrical is not my area of expertise

I get a complete circuit between the battery pos and neg connections to the PD4045, I also get one from the neg and each 12V fuse on the PD4045

But I don't get a complete circuit when I touch the battery pos on the 4045 and the ground Bus .

I do however get a weak current when I touch both the Batter Neg and the ground bus on the PD4045

I think I figured it out. In reading the recent posts about installing a PD4045, I see where I grounded the bus bar to the wrong place. Correct me if I am wrong, but what I believe needs to be done is to attach the battery neg lead to the bus bar along with the grounds for all the circuits, then connect the bus bar to the neg battery input on the converter. I'll let you all know how it works

That ground buss is the ground for the 120 VAC circuits not the 12 VAC circuits. There is no internal connection from the 120 VAC side to the 12 VDC side. You need a separate 12 VDC ground buss.
