Solar Panel

Postby tbird_1977 » Thu Oct 23, 2014 11:34 am

good afternoon,

A friend of mine gave me a small solar panel that is roughly 18inches x 30inches. Is there any way i can tell what size it is? how much power it produces?

thanks for the help.

If you have a volt meter, hook it up and see what type pf voltage you end up with as a starting point. Without the specs, the best case scenario is to find a similar one online & see what the power output is rated for that size. If you can't find the exact one, just compare surface areas and divide to see approximate watts. This isn't correct, but it should get you in the ball park. You can also send off for a real current flow meter (like the Tenergy Watts UP) which will give the exact output.
