Anything electric, AC or DC

another pd4045 question-dc negative

Postby Diemjoe » Thu Mar 05, 2015 12:38 am

I am starting to build my wiring diagram for the DC side of the electric. Looking at the pd 4045, the dc fuse block has the black wires (and two heavier gauge red). I am wondering how folks terminate the negative side. Do I need a termination block that consolidates the returns from the loads? That has a single run back to the battery?

Thanks.

Exactly

Make or buy a ground return bus terminal block that has multiple terminations in common. Use a wire suited to your total current draw to connect that bus to your battery negative.

Thanks, this helps me too.

A single common ground for a few LED lights back to the ground block is correct right? The lights will be run in parallel.

Per the original question, I got this response back from the PD4045 customer service......

The Red wires are for 30 amp circuits and the blacks for 20 amp Max.
The terminals marked for the battery connections go to the battery only.

Hopefully this helps you too Rocky although not exactly answering your question.
