Fuse Question

Postby Chilton82 » Sat May 30, 2015 2:38 pm

If the smallest fuse that I have is a 5 amp but the load on the circuit is going to be much smaller (sub 1 amp) on a 16 gauge wire will the 5 amp fuse be alright? Obviously it'll be overkill or should I go out and pick up a 1 amp fuse?

5a will be ok. It definitely protects a 16awg conductor.
Depending on your how robust the appliance, you might want to go lower or place a fuse on the appliance its self.

They're just led lights.
