James, the PD4045 is a better unit, from what I've read online & seen from other posts. There are QC issues & longevity issues as well, which ruled out the WFCO model for me. They don't seem to last as long in general, not sure why this is, but I saw enough problems that I decided to go with the PD unit. Amazon has them, as well as the usual RV suppliers online.

The WFCO had some problems a while back; but, I'm told that was the 8725 unit, not the 8740; and I haven't heard of any problems for quite a while. Still, the PD would be a better, more reliable unit and it's made in the USA, not China. ....Oh, and the WFCO installation instructions seem to leave something to be desired. You may have to call for help on them.

The Progressive Dynamics PD4045 is available from many online suppliers. Here are a few:
teardroptrailerparts.com/Power_Converters is where I bought one.
amazon.com/Progressive-Dynamics-PD4045KV the discussion in the reviews is helpful to figure out installation issues.
bestconverter.com/PD4045

Thanks for the info guys I knew I liked the PD better I just wanted to hear what the community had to say about it. Always better to hear other opinions first with such a critical part of the build. Thanks again!
