Lighting Assistance Request

Postby Classic Finn » Sat Jan 14, 2006 4:54 pm

Hello there...

By Law I guess Im going to be needing some side lights towards the bottom of the teardrop.... so thought to ask what kind of lighting you may have used on your build?

So I need 2 up front and 2 towards the back.... Have you used LED Lights or? What would be some nice looking lights to use?

Thanks
Classic Finn

PS - Hopefully we,ll have our rims and tires mounted this coming week..

Here's the one's I bought; if I had to buy them again, I'd get them on eBay.
Since I'm in Canada, I had to pay customs/duty which effectively doubled the price. I've seen them on eBay for a similar price, but most times when I get something on eBay I get the seller to mark it as a "gift" on the custom's label, saving me the extra $$

Finn,
do you also need reflectors on the the sides like we do here?
maybe something to consider.
Light/reflector combo unit or do them separate.

Good evening Walter.. And Greetings from Finland..
to be honest as far as I know we dont need the reflectors on the side.. I,ll check on Monday to make sure...Good point...

On the back we do need to have a warning reflector which is a "Triangle".

Those Dell City lights are the same ones I used. They work great.

I got my LED marker lights from here:

http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-bin/ ... 9725.25982
I used the M3 series because they have a low profile. I didn't want to snag them on anything.

These guys have the same lights as Del City, they also have some cool "beehive" markers too!

Bruce which ones did you get from superbright?

Cheers,

I used this for markers:

and this for taillights:

These were the only taillights I could find that were thin enough to fit in my hatch. They've added more lights since I visited last. I like those beehive lights too but I don't think they had them when I bought mine.
