Small, low amp, <3000 BTU AC?

Postby Vesselhead » Mon Jul 25, 2016 8:41 am

Hi Everyone,

I've just started my build and I'm trying to buy all of my parts now.

It feels like there should be a smaller option when it comes to cooling than a 5000 BTU Frigedare. The space is so small I think even these are overkill.

We want to be able to travel to areas where we will occasionally want an AC and heat. A heat pump may work, but I don't have any experience with them.

Anyone ever buy this Domestic Duo?

That's just the vent assembly. It mounts to the 15,000 BTU AC unit listed farther down the page.

Finding a less than 5,000 BTU AC might be a bit difficult or at the very least a good bit more expensive
One interesting one I found is 12V http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/142600-Finally-a-real-12v-air-conditioner-Indel-Sleeping-Well-Cube
Our system works well and any 5,000 btu could be adapted.
