Technically no, because they don't have "DOT" on them.

Thats what Ive heard... some say yes and some say no - does it vary State to State?
and here they say if they are approved there in the states (they may) pass here as well... on many things they follow suit..

Thats the purpose of my question however Ira is right - that I have to check here.... only logical...They would be very nice looking lights
on our tear ....

...tobe DOT/SAE approved a tail/stop/turn light has to have 12sqinches of lighted area...a round light has to be 4" in diameter of lighted area...such lights are not street legal, however they are widely used anyway and except for "harassment" busts you can usually get away with it..just beware of rookies or cops with attitudes(sorry GH, Spad, others)

Well - lets see what they say here to this.... On our Cruising Nights the Police dont bother us too much ... they come and join while on duty..and to admire the Ol Timers... as well as checking for alcohol use in public..
As long as things ok with everything.. they tend to leave things as "Very Nice Rigs"...

Just Maybe we can get away with it here as well.. But 1st I,ll see what kind of a reaction I get from the Inspectors ...

I have similar on our 37 chevrolet but ok they are mounted on it.. and belong to the truck. as is with the 46 ...but a teardrop... Hmm Interesting
to see....what happens...

The thing is we both like these ol lights but again... We,ll let you know..

Thanks

...just remember the "legal" thing does not apply to OEM installed lights on older vehicles...I once hadda '49 Chevy panel truck with a single taillight...completely legal, since that is the way it came from the factory :D

That must have been really tough for the guy behind you to know which way you were turning. Did it blink "LEFT" when you hit the left switch and "RIGHT" when you hit the right?

Dave,

Growing up in upstate NY (St Lawrence County), it has been my experience that Canadians seem to get away with alot of traffic violations in the states (or at least NY)! :o  So, you should have nothing to worry about unless Canada does not like them! :D

p.s. and for out younger viewers...hand signals are required...ya know, the left arm extended strait out the window, indicating a left turn and the left arm extended and pointing at the sky indicating a right turn :D

We had to learn hand signals for the driver's test, but I've never used them. The first time I saw a motorcycle dude use them, I was thinking, "What the heck is that guy pointing at?"
