For the last 6 years I have used an Interstate 60AH AGM Deep Cycle battery with a PD4045 Converter/Charger. The battery is located in the cabinet at the head of the bed in the cabin.

2 - GC-2 flooded golf cart batteries, 6 volt in series = 12 volts. 220 AH capacity total.
In a vented compartment under the raised bed at the rear of the CTC.
Charged via 280 watts of solar panels on roof, or RV hookup when camped at powered site, or by generator/charger as needed.

We have a small off grid cabin we built ourselves in the NM mountains; small PV solar system; 624 watts PV, Outback CC & inverter/charger ... http://countryplans.com/smf/index.php?topic=2335.0
