PD4135 versus PD4045?

Postby plectrudis » Tue May 09, 2017 7:37 pm

I searched the forums, but couldn't find any guidance on this.

What's the difference between the PD4045 and the PD4135? The prices on amazon look to be about comparable.

Is there an advantage to one unit over the other?

Thanks!

I haven't looked. But isn't the 45 of the 4045 the amps the panel is rated for?

If you look at PD's website you can read what they say. A quick glance finds the 4135 is a direct replacement for a WFCO unit. And is lower powered than the 4045.

So I've looked at my 4045 specs and it is rated for 45 amps(DC)and 30 amps AC.

I replaced my WFCO with the PD 4135. For me, the key was a (near) direct replacement. The 4045 is larger and doesn't fit the opening of the WFCO.

Yeah, I wish the 4135 had been available when I replaced my WFCO, because I had to make an entirely new Electrical Panel door to accommodate the larger size of the 4045.

Great! It sounds like the PD4135 is the way to go, then.

Thanks, all!
