thoughts?

I don't understand why he is using welding cables. That looks like gross overkill.

Glad I don't need anything more than 12 volts.

It is camping, after all.

I never did see a blue bus bar.

I still don't see it and his system is beyond my 12 volts. I just don't have the brain amps.

Have you asked the poster about it on Youtube?

I don't know what he has going on there. Here's how it should be wired:

He must be running a washer and dryer in that beast.

As soon as he said AC unit.. he's past what I require.

I say this quite often, yet bares saying again.. First do a power audit and figure out what you need. Here's a sample of mine:
Image

I'm 12v based. I do have a 30amp service with a converter/charger, yet rarely used.. For me, it won't even be in my next build. You need to decide first what you need/require and what sort of system to use.

He kinda bothered me when he stated his battery bank at 300ah.. That may be what the rating may total to, but no where near what his usable amps are.

Is his system solid? Seems to be.. Is it something you require? Only you can answer that. Way over-kill for me.

I agree I would only do 1 100 AH battery but do camp where there is shore power.

So I like the idea of a converter. but you can use the converter and hook to the blue bus fuse positive to positive and it will back feed to charge the batteries? that is what I am trying to figure out more then anything.

I finally figured out you were referencing the Blue Seas fuse block and not a blue-colored bus. But yeah, continuity is continuity.

He does have it hooked up to the positive and negative poles of the Blue Sea distribution box. The part that is confusing is the color of his wire that goes to the top negative post is red when all the other negatives are white or black. If you look at the picture at about 3.20 you can see the relatively short positive wire that he has going directly to the bottom of the Blue Sea box from the converter. It appears to be red also which really makes it confusing. Coloring or painting part of the negative wire to show its polarity would have helped.
