And then use it as a DC-DC charger so you can charge your LiFePo4 from your TV. You'll need a dc power supply to run the ISDT Q-8 for the top balance, here's the one I use:

I used an icharger x6 to balance mine, it's an excellent charger.

 that's too funny... I say as I nervously await my new battery to arrive and wonder what else I need to install it to "just go camping".

I dont want to hear battery this or battery that, I just ordered the cheapest supposedly 120 ah lifepo4 battery from aliexpress. But according to will prowse it failed the load test and only produced 104 ah, the wiring inside the battery was not bad, cheaper bms with no cold charge protection. So while it might be cheaper, I might be replacing the bms, who knows we will see.

but for 230 bucks delivered it will do fine for the budget trailer I am building. Even if it only gives 90 ah it will be cheaper than agm.

I'm guilty as charged!

I should update my signature with something that says... "These are my views today... subject to change!"

As I sit here next to the 3d printer I bought last summer I contemplate developing a list of reasons to convert. At this point ( for me) its not a reasonable financial choice, but its new technology to learn and understand. As most of us on here built our own trailers, we probably all have the "shade tree mechanic" gene. We build, buy and tinker, not because it makes sense, but because we feel the need to learn a new thing.

I realize this is an old thread, and I haven't read through the entire thing yet, but as someone in a similar usage situation from you, I figured I'd give my perspective.

1. Usually when I buy something, I don't want to worry about when I will have to replace it. Lithium batteries last much longer and have many more charge cycles than AGM.

2. This is the more important of the two reasons for me: You can only drain AGM down to 50% capacity before you start irreparably damaging the batteries. In practical terms (not technical terms), you can use the full rating of a battery before you stop. So a 100AH AGM will give you 50AH usable. A Lithium will give you 100AH. So with AGM you need to buy/install at least DOUBLE of what your actual needs are, and then make sure you don't go below 50%. I am a hot weather camper, so AC and fridge are important to me, so I need as much capacity as I can afford.

3. There isn't a crazy huge price difference anymore.

Hey Tom, I don't know anything about 3D printers but there's a guy in MN (ebay handle is "thecrazyham") who makes custom panel mounts for things like USB outlets, APP outlets, etc. Might be a little cottage industry for ya providing panel mounts for teardrop electrical panel builds.

But maybe you are like me... when someone says I should start a business doing this or that I remind them I am retired and not looking for work :)
