Air Filter

Air purifier
I am not a fan of camp fires because I have asthma and it gets hard to breath.
My considered opinion is that most campers have no clue how to build a campfire and they smolder and smoke. I bought a small air purifier/filter the problem is the word small. Not a huge problem if you have air-conditioning but even then there is some infiltration.
Shopping for filters for my Ridiged shop vac I saw a HEPA filter and had an, ah ha moment, large filtering area. This is a proof of concept and if it works I will refine it. And no that is not the HEPA filter it is a conventional filter.
At this point I have an I bolt through the bottom of the filter and suspended with a strap between the pipe and rubber adapter.

Back ground details of the AC as it is now. Sully Creek State Park just south of Teddy Roosevelt National park (the park was closed to camping). The hose with a bilge blower necessary to preventing icing.

How I plan on having this work is that the filter in it housing will work as a stand alone using one of the deck ports or can be connected in tandem with the AC

You might need to bump the speed up on the blower. Remember the vac filters are designed to be behind a 1 HP motor. Its not a bad idea. You might do better with a filter for a small room purifier as they are designed for a much smaller fan.

edit to add this one might be easier to retro in to your air con. just rig it up on either the supply or return vent in the TD.

I have it together and there is a substantial amount of air making it through with the bilge blower which is rated at 200 CF per minute at full throttle and 2.5 Amps. The interior of our tear is ~400 CF. As I said this is proof of concept and I have some refining to do.

I got this PG Cabin Air Filter PC8233 | Fits 1999-03 Volkswagen EuroVan
by QLSupply

It mounts over the marine deck plate I use for my ac connection.
It’s not hepa, but those take a lot of horse power to push air through.

I tried it out and it works with out being too noisy inside the cabin. I still have some refinements some of which will wait till next years camping season.
Tom how do you attach your filter.

I 3D printed a small plenum for a 120MM pc fan. It holds a metal bar. I drilled a hole in the middle of the filter and use a j- bolt to hold it in place.
