Postby RBB » Sun Sep 17, 2023 12:32 pm

Ok... what am I missing here...
I have been looking into Batteries for my trailer for some time now... and this sale is on right now at Renogy...

12V 100Ah Core Series Deep Cycle Lithium Iron Phosphate Battery-Pre Order
$385.99!

That is 50% less then other similar batteries...

What am I missing... is this TOO good to be true... or is this actually a good deal? :NC

There are several out there even less than this. All with about the same or better warranty. I'm not a huge Renogy fan as they come in late, sell high and work marketing to gain sales. I prefer performance.. For that price I can buy 200ah overseas and shipped.

Do a bit more research before jumping on this battery. Or not... Just me and how I look at current pricing overall.

Renogy has a horrible reputation when it comes to customer service and warranty issues. You pays your money, you takes a chance....

Would you mind sharing some brands you have experience with that may be worth looking further into? I am by no means sold on Renogy...

Here's some deals on Amazon... I have several of these and am very happy with them all.

As long as they are a LifePO4 battery, they work well for me.

Some will disagree on going low cost, but it's my hard earned money.

Looks like Gulfcoast already did for you.

Watch for 12.8v and cut-off ~10.5v. The cycle number is typically BS from anyone mainly because they don't say what volts hey start at or end at We all think it's full to empty (or 5%) but they're not held to a standard, Also most warranties are pro-rated, even those 'lifetime' you read about. I always figure to get about 2k-3k cycles from my battery. So I'm very happy if they exceed. I also don't drain beyond 40-50%.. That's 5-8yrs fulltime use. Stating 10,000 cycles?? I don't see it.

I like bolt on terminals (stays secure) and handles (ease of removal). Physical size may vary.. Tight space? BMS, shut down for temp and voltage. Max out amperage, some are just under sized. Love it when they state WH's! Do the math and check what they say AH.

From Gulfcaost's link: https://www.amazon.com/Household-Appliances-Emergency-Trolling-Parallel/dp/B0CCV5WW5M/ref=sr_1_11?crid=1NL4UVZK1O18B&keywords=lifepo4%2B100ah&qid=1695041920&s=books&sprefix=lifepo4%2B100ah%2Cstripbooks%2C273&sr=1-11&ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fos.d977788f-1483-4f76-90a3-786e4cdc8f10&th=1 fits the requirements for me!

Cheers Guys!
Spent some time going down the GOOGLE rabbit hole today and did find most of these through one search or another...

Looks like there are plenty of "lower cost" options out there to work with. I will keep you all posted once I pull the trigger!

I installed two Enjoybot 100AH batteries last winter. https://enjoybot.com/ They have high/low temp protection, etc. Teardowns show they're built well. About $299 each and they've worked flawlessly in my teardrop.

I'm looking at the 100ah Elefast (bluetooth and low temp protection)
