Water pump??

Postby John T3 » Sun Mar 26, 2006 11:17 pm

Originally I had designed my tear to use a gravity fed system, but after test fitting it I decided to relocate the water tank to the galley floor under the faucet.
Now I'm in a bit of sticker shock  surfing the net for water pumps. The cheapest thing I see runs over fifty bucks (Shurflo). Well, I'll bite the bullet if I need to, but has anyone seen or is using something else?

A way cheaper pump

Postby Guy » Sun Mar 26, 2006 11:22 pm

Dear John,

The are many pumps cheaper than that. There was a wholethread that I think Madjack contributed to regarding pumps with a faucet and a switch for under 25 dollars. Hold on I will try to locate it for you.

Success using google site search http://www.tnttt.com/viewtopic.php?t=7513&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=

Hi John

Of course you realise that you still do not have to have an electric pump?, there are plenty of hand pumps out there.

John,

I lived on a boat with a hand pump, It works good but I really love my 12Volt pump. Used it the first time last weekend.4 days camping, it was great, good water flow at the touch of a button. This is the best value I have found in a pump too.

:) Thanks for the advice all! I bit the bullet and spent 45$ at Camping World for one. Self priming, no switch, minimum hassle. I was tempted to get the hand pump, but I already have the faucet. Then, after all the dough I've already put into the project I didn't need to listen to the spousal unit ask, "I have to what to get water?"
