exide battery question

Postby Georgeandpat » Mon Apr 03, 2006 2:31 pm

Is anyone here familiar with the Exide 27DC battery? There is one at Sam's Club for $54. It's a good price compared to the Trojan SCS 200 that I was considering (over $100). Here are the specs:

Thanks, George.

...it is a standard large sized marine/deep cycle battery from a company with a good reputation...belive me when I say the "other" battery is not twice as nice, as the price indicates, you can buy 2 new Ecxides for the cost of a single Trojan...unless you are inna large current draw over and extended period then get the Exide...IMNSHO

Although I always use Trojan batteries in my home solar power system I agree with MadJack, go for the Sam's Club battery.

Thanks guys, I've read your previous posts regarding batteries. I agree with the philosophy of getting a good charger (Power Tender) and an adequate deep cycle battery. I think the Exide will do for my needs. George.

Seems to me that Sam's will carry either the Exide OR the Optimas. I guess it's a regional thing.
