Sate of Charge LED Battery Meter

Anything electric, AC or DC

Rich,
You didn't say anything wrong. I was reading the posts out loud to Mike and he heard the change in my voice when I read the response to yours. Took me away from the puter.

I won't speak about the missing person but it was nice to be able to ask my question and stand a chance of getting a direct answer instead of a diatribe on the excentricities of 12V and chargers.

Liked your answer as well as the rest.

That looks good and that is my favorite store in all the world. Haven't had a good reason to go lately.

My battery sits in front of me in the canoe with a cooler full of :worship: fish :worship: next to it. The front has a cooler full of ice to keep the front down enough for my comfort leverl, and the trolling motor is to my right rear. Works good.

Thanks
Miriam

First of all Miriam, I am not a fisherman so I maybe all wet on this, and maybe you are not a beer drinker, but why doesn't that front cooler have any beer in it. And why aren't the posts with links to Bass Pro Shop on hear before I go on vacation instead of a week after I get home. That always happens, someone shows a cool product that I could use and here I am having just been to Bass Pro Shop and now the discussion about it comes up.

For something inexpensive the $3 multimeter should work fine. I would imagine that after using the battery a few times you might get an idea what condition it is in just from experience. So even it your battery isn't at 60% when the meter reads 12.2 volts or whatever, you will still know something. At least you have something to look at to monitor your battery. Just my (cheap) opinion.

 ;) Well, first off I fish mostly alone in some places where there are rarely people around to help.

Secondly, I quit. I was having a shocky feeling with the first drink (wine was worse.)

Third I always got drunk real quick and then I think I'm funny, everyone else is funnier (even the fish and game officers, who seem to be checking on me.) and I already forget to go home before dark.

Hope you had a great vacation and I know you enjoyed your Bass Pro visit. Now you have an excuse to go back.

I think it's about time I went back to the BPS in Orlando. I've been there only once, and was on my way to somewhere else and made a detour to go there to use a coupon I got for Xmas. I didn't have time to really look at everything. That's a really cool place to go whether you buy anything or not.

I never take either with me cause I might need a new reel or pole or~~~
Take your wife and spend the day. If it is like ours it is worth the cost of dinner and most have lots of eating places near.

Bass Pro Shops is pretty good but Cabelas (I think) is better at making you part with your money. Seems like I always find something I can't live without.

I've been to the Basspro in Dallas and Houston. But it's nothing comparable to the one in Springfield. It is awsome and you could spend the whole day there.

If anyone has never been to a Bass Pro Shop, check out their video at this web page. It isn't just one store, but several bunched together...at least the one in Orlando is.

I found a plug in (cig lighter) LED meter at Wally World in the $5.00 bin a few months ago...alomg with the LED clearance lights. Seems to work fine in my truck.

Thanks, Tracy. I'll check with our WMs to see if they have one. Five bucks, hun? This gets better all the time.

Tracy, if this is the one you got at WM for $3, then, you "stole" it. I paid $14.77 for this one today. I haven't see one on line for under $13, and you have to pay shipping on them, so I'm happy with my purchase. My converter has been plugged in for a week, so the battery stays charged to capacity as you can see.

I'm thinking of unplugging my shore power and running the fan and lights continously to see how fast the battery voltage drops.

That is, I'll run my fan after I get my replacement fuse holder that is bad. I took out the fuse and couldn't get it back in. The socket was distorted, so I called Fantastic and they'fe sending me another one to put in. I'm not taking my whole fan out to be replaced. I'll fix it myself when I get the part. Those people at Fantastic Vents are really helpful and very nice to deal with. So was Scott, where I ordered it. He took one apart to make sure I could do the same with it installed and sent me pictures of it.
