    California Coastal Records Project
Just a favorite site to share. The complete California coast, Mexico to Oregon, frame by frame photos taken from an airplane. There is also a time comparison of each photo from 1972 to 2005. If you click on the link under the samples the pic will open to about 720x470 pixels. Click again, opens to about 3000x1900 (detailed!). You can select a place on the map or type in a location. 8)

This is my favorite place for canoeing. The Forum is terrific. It is about Quetico and Boundary Waters Canoe Area, but is applicable to any canoe camping fans. Wonderful photos too.

Note: This book is published anew every year:

Note: You can subscribe for a palm or online subscription & or buy the book
online from them direct. However the cost of the book from them with shipping

Many states here for books of Best of Tent Camping From Amazon:
http://tinyurl.com/2tlqgk

Amazon has the Best in Tent Camping series of books from different states:
Examples from the link at the top:
Northern California:

Southern California:

Oregon:

One example Washington state is below:

The Best in Tent Camping: Washington: A Guide for Car Campers Who Hate RVs, Concrete Slabs, and Loud Portable Stereos (Best in Tent Camping - Menasha Ridge) (Paperback) http://tinyurl.com/2gp5fj

I feel the same about the little known out-of-the-way campgrounds. I found a series of books at Amazon "The Best in Tent Camping" series. There is one for Washington State best views, closest to water, most privacy, quietest, etc.

Martha ~ Your suggestion to make this thread a sticky is duly noted and as you can see a reality at this time.
