Smoked Fresh Fish While Camping

Postby Classic Finn » Thu May 24, 2007 11:26 am

I love fishing as many do ..especially fly fishing here in the far Nort.. I like to eat freshly caught and smoked fish.. Trout are in abundance here as are Salmon way up in the lakes and rivers of Lapland..

So a nice lil portable smoker fits into the galley of the tear...

Here is our Lil Stainless Portable Smoker... ;)

Finn my Friend, you know we all want the details on the smoker. Where can we go to buy one?

I,ll call the company and let you know if they export to USA or have a dealer there.. ;)

Classic Finn

I called the main office of these products and the management told me that there are no reps in the USA or Canada however people have ordered them to North America.. also shipping is a factor on these as well.

If anyone is interested Id be willing to help just let me know..

Classic Finn

That looks interesting. I wished the site gave more info. How do you use it? Put in on top a campfire? Use coals inside of it? How do you make the smoke

The only problem I see with it is that when you're done, you have smoked fish. IMHO the ONLY way to cook fish is FRIED...

...in bacon grease...

...rolled in cornmeal...

...served with tartar sauce...

...which is made with mayonnaise, not Miracle Whip.

Oh, wait. Blackened is good too. Still gotta use bacon grease though. (Tartar sauce is optional.)

Heikki, I'm curious as to what kind of wood you use for smoking? Around here the list includes hickory, mesquite, apple, cherry, sassafras and pecan. Alder is common for fish.

Best,
Tom
