Who's buying? My favorite red is zinfandel. Though I've been known to buy two buck chuck from Trader Joe's. San Luis Obispo County, Calif. is a wine producing area with well over 100 local wineries.

Byron (http://www.sbcountywines.com/wineries/pages/byron.html) makes the best pinot I've ever had. It's dang pricy, but ohmy, is it something else.

Camping? ScrewCappaNapa with some sort of red winelike product in the bottle. 'bout $7 a pop a TJ's, and a very nice wine. Can't beat screwcaps for camping. Heck, we just wander around trader joes and grab bottles. It all works out in the end. By the end of the night, twobuckchuck is fine...

As for the proper glass to oxygenate the red wine? The red cup from costco. Also doubles as the margerita glass, a brandy snifter, and a very classy martini glass. Red cups are an integral part of my camping gear.

It got to a point where 'red cups' were banned from a certain group I belonged to. So we found blue ones... I think the wine was better in the red ones though.

Wine? It wouldn't be camping without wine. There is always a bottle of Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon or both in my teardrop. It is not hard to find my favorite psychologist, Dr. Daniel's, either.

We like the occasional slurp of wine. We particularly like anything from Niagara Grapes or Muscadine Grapes. If it tastes like the grape we like it.

Rieslings or Piesporter (sp?) from Germany are okay. In general, we find Merlots to be two steps under vinegar. White Zins are okay. I don't have any problem with a good bourbon or scotch, either.

Does anyone have a good way of carrying wine bottles in their tears? I am thinking of something that would be built-in for holding the bottles. I would love to see some pics if anyone has come up with an ingenious way to carry the bottles in the tear galley area.

BTW, one of my "first" camping trips (late June this year) with my trailer will be to Yakima wine country, here in Washington! I am looking forward to bringing back a few nice bottles, and I am looking forward to drinking a few nice wines while at the campground. We'll be staying at the Yakima Sportsman campground, along the Yakima River. We're also planning to float the river one of the days we are there.

Sonar, those are pretty neat little "suckers". They might work in combination with something built in. Looks like they would provide a bit of cushion as well.

I am thinking of making something out of wood with holes for four bottles of wine. It would have some type of cushioning (scrap insulation maybe) to protect the bottle from the inevitable bumps along the road. It would also have to hold the bottle from bouncing out, etc... It could be expanded to hold a bottle of Bailey's, etc... Shouldn't be too hard to make, but I want to be sure that the bottles will be cushioned well.

My wife and I have not been drinking anything with alcohol for a number
of years, since our medicine bottles reads do not mix with alcohol. My
cardiologist did give me the go ahead for a glass of wine a day a few years ago. In December after putting boat numbers on a customers new boat, he came to pick the boat up and offered to take us fishing anytime
and he gave us Crown Royal bottle of homemade muscadine wine. This gentleman has been making his wine for about 30 years. My wife and I
killed the bottle at a half a champagne glass each at night. What a good wine! If there is any way possible I want to bring a bottle with us to LCG3.
about why I had good results from the nuculear stress test ,
ultrasound test and carotid scan. Could it have been the wine.

If I can't take half a case with me I'm not going!

We are particularly blessed in new Zealand both with a thriving local wine industry and a very strong dollar which makes all those excellent South African wines so very affordable. Nederberg Cabernet is just $8.00 in the local supermarket at the moment.

When I fit out my new Teardrop's kitchen I'm planning a half case cellar and space for my decent red wine glasses... three glasses to a bottle.
