I don't know.

I tend to use the internet and visitor's centers as I enter the state.

There are some niche camping books I have heard of that I may consider in the future. US Army Corp. of Engineers campground book, for instance.

Nice tear!

I have Woodalls 2008 edition and I don't like how they do their listings. They usually give you a map in the front of each State section and each Woodalls site is marked on the map with a W. After the map is an alphabetical listing of each campsite by town. However, the campsite you are looking for may not be listed under that particular town, but under another town name not listed on the map. If they were to number the campsites according to the map, or group them in to regions, it may be easier to find what you are looking for.

I haven't seen a Frommers so I cannot compare or contrast.

You can also go online and request catalogs by State for free just search under terms like "Pennsylvania Campgrounds" or "West Virginia" Campgrounds. These are put out by the Campground Owners Associations of each State.

We did this also. Utah info was comprehensive and arrived quickly. California's info, though, never showed up. Other states fell somewhere between these two. I would advise requesting the info 2 months in advance of the planned trip.
