Those filters look like the answer for me. I've not seen them in the stores here. Where did you get them?

You can order them online if you can't get them in the supermarket.

Yeah, those bottom ones were the ones I was talking about. The one right above it looks like it belongs on the space shuttle!

My dad made his own version of this and it worked. I think he is still doing it with the same pot he had when I was a kid. All you need is a paper towel. Make a small hole in the center of the paper towel and press it down over the tube and into the basket. Put your coffee grounds in to the paper towel and fold the towel over the tube pressing the tube thru the paper towel. Four folds for the corners of the towels and put the top on the basket. It worked for my dad for 20+ years and you don't have to order it off the internet.

My wife drinks Pepsi in the morning, I make coffee. I'm going to buy a small percolator for camping and some of those wrap around filters if I can find them. My late father-in-law always made boiled coffed in a glass sauce pan (pyrex, I guess) and I drank a lot of it. He put in a pinch of salt and when it was boiled, removed it from the stove and added a little cold water to "help settle the grounds". We didn't filter it, so there was always some sediment and grounds in the bottom. You just didn't drain the cup...you left a quarter inch or so to pour out.

IRG Coffee Klatch

8) Can't wait to see who turns up with what at the IRG in July. One of the things planned to do is a morning Coffee Klatch and favorite Cup of Joe/Java exchange at the "Redwood Early Bird Cafe" (set up at the main cookshack). Bring your cup, full or empty, and some of your brew/beans and trade tastes with others. Dean uses a French Press so I'll be pushing that plunger down. We have a lot of coffees up here so the folks coming to the gathering can try a few of our local brews. Me, never have been a coffee/caffeine drinker, I'm already wired high- speed naturally, but I love the smell of it when the beans are ground and brewed.
