Teardrops n Tiny Travel Trailers

Just as the subject says. I'd like to mount these inside my trailer for just-in-case use. Prefer fiberglass handles to wood under the theory that they will last longer and keep head attached longer. I can see the axe being used to reduce firewood logs and the shovel for digging a waste hole and digging the trailer out of snow. Something I can order from Amazon is a plus (I have Amazon Prime free two-day delivery.) Thanks.

You want a full size shovel and axe or a camp size. You can make a box to go under that will hold these items. You could even get a long plastic box and attach it to a sliding base.

For camping; I like a medium, single-bit axe. With the advent of fibreglass handles; even better. I can't comment on the shovel; I'm a rockhound and carry a small shovel (you have to be on yer knees to dig)

Here in the west; many sideroads in logging areas will yield more than enough wood for a toasty campfire without needing any chopping so most times the axe is more a glorified hatchet for kindling.

I will be using a set of Quickfist clamps to mount mine, although I am mounting mine in the bed of my truck. For the ax, and D handled shovel I chose the 2.5 inch max size (model 0010).

I also carry a curved blade pruning saw. Much quicker than an ax for cutting wood up.

firemaniac, quickfists are great, but from what I've seen breakdown over time with UV exposure.

I have them in hand now, so we shall see how they hold up in the bed of the truck. I think to help prolong their life, I will treat them with a marine anti UV product of some sort.

From what I can see they are good quality, I am considering purchasing other styles as well after receiving these. I think I need some for securing items in the interior of either the truck, or trailer, things like the Mag light in the cab I don't want flying around.

Chris, I've been looking at getting some also, good to hear you like them. I use 303 Protectant for protecting rubber and plastic stuff outdoors, should work with Quickfists.
