Teardrops n Tiny Travel Trailers

I made these yesterday. The work pickup was smelling pretty foul. I have damp clothing, boots and also leave the saw in overnight. That gives you an idea of the odor.

I came upon a very small Western Red Cedar that was blocking the road so I ripped the end with the saw and made good smelling noodles which are now in the pickup and make it smell nicer. Noodles are what we call these long shavings that a chainsaw will make when ripping the wood lengthwise. Then you gather up the noodles and stuff something porous with them. I just took a handfull and put them on the pickup floor.

I used to have some hanging in the teardrop. But they dried out and then there was cedar dust all over. You can rewet the noodles and that will restore the good smell.

The real test will be on Monday morning.

Growing up on the Southern Oregon Coast, I've used cedar noodles in old VWs that smelled of....well, old VW.

So it's Monday. How did they do?

They still can be smelled. I cut a few little cedar cookies and threw them in too.
