I was given a very nice camping folding gravity chair for my birthday.

It's built for big guys with wider seat and 300 pound rating. I really like it but decided it would be best to offer it a bit of help. I have seen a few fail when the cording from the frame to the eyelets broke, so here is my answer for those that might be interested !

I purchased some black nylon cording at a fabric shop....

Tied it off at the frame....

then whipped it thru eyelet and back around the outer frame then the next ......

I just noticed I missed the last eyelet :x

Now that I have "backup" I feel much better hope it helps the chair to last a bit longer cause as I said I really like it !

Looks great!

I was in a bit of a pinch when mine started to fail from lots of use. (mostly afternoon naps) So I just used Zip ties I had in the truck but I'll probably re-do it much the way you have.

One thing I wonder is if it might be a good idea to leave some slack in the cord... It seems to be best if the bungees and the new cord could share the weight evenly. Either way, I love the chair! Nice work!

Very nicely done. Was that parachute cord or straight nylon cord? Is there a difference?
At any rate, good thinking.
