After considering the many options, I opted for a Turbo Toilet from Black Pine. I try not to think about the origin of the name. (But did check carefully to make sure there was no ejection or boost buttons.) It's super easy to set up & fold back again. It is also amazingly sturdy & stable feeling. It is just as low as many other options, maybe 14" tall" but we're OK with that as a camping option. List price is $69 but I got mine off Ebay for $40. For my purposes it is worth the added cost over the bucket & toilet lid combo. If I had more storage space I'd have opted for the luggable loo approach.

[Note: Despite the appearance in the picture, the seat on my toilet is level.]

This is all so my sister has a bathroom in the middle of the night instead of walking to the campground bathrooms. We're leaving on a cross country trip in a week and I DO NOT want to have to get up in the middle of the night to be an escort. Also, I really want her to feel comfortable and enjoy herself. We're in our fifties. When we were kids our parents kept promising us a vacation to California "next Summer" for years on end but it never happened. We're adults now with lots of vacation leave saved up. I finally have a camper & by gawd I am going to make that trip happen now! It might be now or never & never is not an option I'll accept.

Anyway, sis tried the new "litter box" out a couple weekends ago when I set the camper up for her at a nearby park for her dog agility competition. She says it works quite well as long as you don't use the bags that came with it, as those apparently are prone to having holes. Oops. Thankfully she was double bagging as I'd recommended. She switched to using the spare medium sized trash bags I provided. Her verdict is that it's a great addition to the camper for nighttime use. For our trip I decided to add a pop up privacy tent. It's a standy with enough space for indoor potty use but this sharing space with your sister thing has its limits.

Cali or bust!!

After years of coping with this problem, I decided to really dig into it (speaking figuratively of course). We have the luggable loo type and what was most dreaded was coping with the fluids. It ended up as a problem that a baby could have solved. I mean their diaper holds lots of fluids, don't they? Ok, how? The answer is that their diaper has a substance called "diaper polymer" that turns fluids to gel and can be bought on Amazon for about $20 per pound. That is kind of spendy, but when you figure that it only takes between 1/2 and 1 TEAspoon to work its magic on the average amount of fluid you are concerned with, it comes out to somewhere around 20 cents per usage. It's worth it to us, you may have a different opinion.

Wow!!!!!!!!!!! I never checked there. If 2 or 3 people went together and bought 5 gallons and split it That would be enough for each for a lifetime.

Just a note, albeit late, we use the Luggable Loo also, its great. Wife had both knees replaced a couple years ago, in desperation one night, to raise it up a bit to accommodate knees, I just added a second bucket; stacked! Perfect height for her knees, simple, stable, light, readily available....plus you never known when you might need an extra bucket, for gathering firewood, pecans, gold doubloons...Coyote

have been using a DIY version of the luggable loo for a few years. Also with the idea of DIY PET/WagBags. No issues so far. Wife likes the idea of not waiting in line at a dump station. Also on the liquid side of the equation this season will bring the Lady J into the mix for her so liquids will be disposed of more simply also.

Hi everyone, first post on the site and I choose potties post lol... anyways I didn’t see anyone mention the reliance hassock potty. I’ve been using it camping and with my ttt for a long time, with the double doodie bags, all from Walmart, Amazon etc. inexpensive and durable. I’ve had it probably 15 years now. Never thought about trying another kind as this setup is durable, and inside an ozark trail changing tent/ shower tent it is great.

were 95% offroad dispersed campers. The toilet we picked is a Ironman 4x4 Bush Toilet. It folds up flat w\carry case for great storage.

in the biodegradable bag we put biodegradable pet litter, we depose it in the trash (doubled bagged) or dig a hole about 10" deep far from a water source.

Wouldn't camping be much easier if we were like aliens from a far-away galaxy and didn't even make pooooo?
