Teardrops n Tiny Travel Trailers

I'm starting to think that I want to buy cooking accessories and lighting accessories that run off of propane.

Do any of you have two 20# propane tanks on the tongue of your teardrop?

I really want to do that but am a little nervous about having them at the head of my bed! Haha

Any input pro or con would be appreciated because I am thinking about buying a mount for the tongue of my camper.

I've heard that sometimes you can get stopped going through tunnels that have restrictions on explosive gasses. That's the only reason I'll keep my propane tucked away inside.

I have my 20# tank of propane on the tongue of my teardrop. I have never had an issue going across bridges or tunnels in my travels. I prefer to have my propane tank out in the open rather than inside the truck or trailer.

Be aware that it adds directly to the tongue weight, ~17 lbs for an empty tank and ~20 lbs for gas adds 37 lbs directly to the tongue weight.

Wow. Well it looks like it would be easiest to buy the mounts and just mount two 20# tanks to the tongue but that is a lot of weight! I didn't think about that. My trailer is already tongue heavy. But maybe when I put the battery and all in the back it will even out some

The GW Bridge in NYC is a double decker and propane bottles are only allowed on the upper deck. Not good to contain a rapid expansion.

I have a single 25# tank which holds 6.76 gallons a 20# tank holds 4.7 gallons. Ours gets used for a three burner cook top, water heater and gas grill and it used only a couple of gallons in the eight days on the North shore of Lake Superior a single 20# or even a 10# would be sufficient.
