Might be of some interest to perspective welder buyers... Home Depot's online store is offering free shipping on orders over $49 until the 21st. This includes most of the home welding units they sell.

Cheers!

Would it be cheaper buying it online? I'll bet they still charge sales tax.

I guess it all depends on how far away the closest HD is from your house. At $3.00/gal, driving costs add up quick.

I guess you're right. I can't go anywhere without passing a HD or Lowes.

BDC

Don't know where you are, but here in the Continental United States we plug our clothes dryers into a 30 amp receptacle and our Lincoln 225 AC welders into a 50 amp receptacle. I added a second 50 amp 3 wire outlet in my garage and put it on the same breaker as the electric stove. I never cook and weld at the same time though. If I was going to use the welder a lot it would have it's own breaker.

If you have an electric range outlet, they're usually 50A

I just extended my new TSC trailer from 4X8 to 4X10 and raised the hitch ball socket 6" so it would fit directly on a bumper mounted ball.

I used my old Lincoln 225...

The frame is made of 1/8" 2X2 angles...
For the most part, I used 3/32 rods of #6013 at 90 amps...

In some areas, especially for filling...I used #6013 in 5/32" varying from 100-130 amps, depending upon the given situation..

Although i of course, have an oxy/acet set, i used my abrasive chop saw for all the cuts..

...Those old Lincolns are good units...

Started the floor today..tomorrow, more floor and design some adjustable stands for the rear...

Whiteraider

You really did score on that deal, considering that I just paid $63.47 for an Argon refill for my Miller Dialarc HF
