Frame modification question

What do you folks think about stretching the HF Frame 12" using the center cross member, Bolted. and welded? I had previously bolted on 2" angel iron to extend the rear the 12". Any concerns tips, advice etc? advice on axle placement on 9' Trailer. I have more Pictures in the Gallery if your bored

That looks entirely sensible to me. For a 108" frame, you can choose an axle position, from the back of the frame, between 38" (for a higher hitch weight or to allow a heavy galley) and 44" (for a light hitch weight or a minimal galley). You can go up to 48" if you plan on a heavy tongue box and don't want a heavy hitch.
