4x6 Trailer

Postby Ranchu » Mon Oct 23, 2006 3:34 am

Hi All

First let me say what a great site! I love the pictures of the trailers - so many of them are a work of art!

Now I have to own up and admit that I don't want to build a "teardrop".... yet.... :)

I am interested in building a small trailer to tow behind my woefully underpowered car. As such I am looking to construct something that is as light as possible. All that I intend to put in it is camping gear (esky, rolled up matress, tent, etc).

It doesn't need to have a huge load carrying capacity - probably 150kg (330lbs) or so.

Thanks!

Welcome, you can design whatever you suits your needs.

Howbout one with a bulbous front one like a Ranchu Lion?

Hi Ranchu,

Welcome to the forum.

Another ultralight eh? How about using Roly's stacker idea?

Is this for 1 or 2 people?

My Escape Hatch, without the air is about 700#.

Let us know what you come up with!

Mike...

P.S. What is your tow vehicle?
The quality is remembered long after the price is forgotten, so build your teardrop with the best materials...

Hi. I'm searching the forum now looking for Roly's stacker and having to sift through a lot of posts...

I'm not building a teardrop/caravan to sleep people, just a trailer to transport my tent and other camping equipment.

The car is only a Nissan Pulsar - 1.6L automatic :( The trailer would have to be fairly rugged since Australian roads aren't always the best....

You can have a hauler and a TD with the stacker.
