Hi Aladinbama, I worked for one welding shop here and the owner would buy trailers out of the midwest, so cheap, we couldn't but the steel for the price of the trailers, not to mention the labor cost for welding. For some reason welding shops love to build trailers? I would estimate the materials expense and multiply by three for the total expense: 1/3 materials, 2/3 labor. I would prefer to have one made at that price, and the money stays in your community. If a weld breaks, the shop will generally repair their work for free; not harbor freight. To develop a relationship with a welding shop could come in handy later. If you build your own (or have it done) you can make it to suit your needs and not harbor freights needs.
Good luck on your build. Slow and safe works for me because I'm my own best customer I rarely need to hurry or have to meet a deadline.
Enjoy, Chris
