Weight distribution hitch

Not sure if this is right place for this. But what weight distribution hitch do you guys use or recommend. I pull my 8.5x20 enclosed with a 1/2 ton gmc it really don't squat much but I'd feel safer with one and the sway system.

I'm looking at eaz lift 230 shipped everything includes

Equalizer 500 plus ball 25

Is it a tandem axle? You don't need one unless it is....

why don't you need a weight hitch unless it's tandem axle. double negative sorry. so you are saying if it's a single axle you don't need a weight hitch, never heard that one. highdesertranger

Let me rephrase that, I think it's more important with a tandem axle than a single axle to use a weight distributing hitch. The tandem axle carries more of the weight on the front axle when the trailer is nose down and you can overload the tires if it's too much out of balance. The weight distributing hitch distributes the weight evenly across the two axles. Of course, the tow vehicle can be out of whack too if it's nose is too high; not enough weight on the front wheels to steer and the weight distributing hitch helps with that too. It's easier to move weight around inside a single axle than a tandem to hit the tongue weight you want, especially if you are in the building stages. So it's not that you don't ever need a weight distributing hitch with a single axle, it's that you can probably distribute the weight in the trailer so that you don't.
