NT IronTon hubs

Postby drshoe » Tue Aug 04, 2015 6:04 pm

I bought the 5x8 NT trailer and when I assembled it I noticed the inner side of the hub had a valve and a rubber seal. I didn't take close up pics but can get some if needed.

Is this some sort of easy-lube hub?

Sounds like it, but can't be sure... I have something of same concept on my tandem axle car carrier, but I'm still in favor of good "hand pack" for initial setup... The easy lube type system can blow out rear seal and spew grease every where if you are not careful.... Best advice I can give is to remove dust cap when filing with grease gun, go slow allowing time to grease to move and clean up excessive grease before closing up hub with dust cap...

A picture would validate things...
