Yeah, but they are $728 for a 5x8 and then you have to cut away stuff. I've since purchased a HF #1740 and modified it at significantly less cost.

I've been lurking on the forum for a while and have decided to upgrade my status to Newbie.

Here is my experience at the Tractor Supply Co. store in New Port Richey, Florida a week ago:
The 4x8NF no floor model is available at $279. They usually have several on hand but had just sold the last one in stock - in fact it was still in the lot hooked up to the new owner's vehicle so I had a chance to look it over.
It is a well built unit of all welded construction. and compares more than favorably with the heavy duty Harbor Freight Heavy Duty 1175 lb. cap. 4x8 which is on sale now at $249.
I would probably chose the TSC trailer if I wanted a 4x8 because it looks a little beefier and I like the welded construction.

I asked the clerk to check on the 5x8 NF no floor model and she called the Carry-On factory.
After getting shuffled around awhile she got someone who knew what she wanted and gave her a price of $770.
I mentioned the forum and showed her a print out showing that others had been quoted $457:

The person she was talking to told her that was impossible as it cost a lot to do a special request (less costs more!).
The store had a 5x8 on the lot for less than that (I think it was $659 or $759 - lost my notes) and it had a floor, sides and a ramp!

Does anyone have the name of an individual at Carry-On that gave the price at $457?

Now I am looking at this 5x8 on eBay at only $450

Problem is that at $3.00 a gallon for gas it would cost a lot to pick it up from the builder in Tennessee.

Locally 5x8's are $650 and up.

If you wait for the 20% off coupon you're in the ballpark.

Thanks for the heads up on the HF 5x8.
Looks pretty good in the picture too.
A 20% coupon would put it right at $480 plus tax.
Not bad.
Now if they would put it on sale with a 20% coupon at the same time.....

Have you looked at the 5x8 from Redtrailer? Thats what I got and I'm very happy with it.

Thanks for the suggestion.
It looks like a great trailer and I wouldn't hesitate to get one but shipping to me is quoted at $160 on their website.
So the 5x8 @ $560 plus $160 would end up at $720 before tax.
I can get an all welded 5x8 locally for quite a bit less.

Wow! They must have jacked up the price and the shipping cost. I live in FL and the shipping was $95, which I thought was high.
Yep, I would have one built if I was you.

Rampage -
You're right.
I was looking at the wrong trailer.
The price and shipping I was looking at are for the SJ-8516 5x8 landscaping trailer with sides, floor, ramp, etc.
The stripped down 5x8 folding model is the SJ-8512 which sells for $459 plus $90 shipping.
That's a lot more attractive pricing.
