Why no HF trailers available??

What's going on with HF trailers??
Yesterday I purchased my 3rd HF kit from a local store. But when they brought out the boxes, one had a sizable rip. Ruptured boxes are nothing new, but when they called me back to get a part that fell out while I drove up to the door, I got a bit worried. So this morning I did a close inspection of the box still in the jeep. The rip was bigger than what I was able to see at the store or while they loaded it into my jeep, so I got a flash light and peered into the box. All the (remaining) parts were the usual red forged iron parts, but I saw neither of the two angle irons which join the tongue arms to the frame. Maybe they were in the other box, but I expected all the red metal to come in the same box from the same factory. Before looking in the other box, I went on line to download the manual for a parts list. To my surprise the HF site had none of the usual 4x8 trailers or their manuals, not even from a search using the SKU.

After my 6 month battle to get my 2nd trailer usable (and then only with a warp, see "tale of 2 trailers" and "Tip Top Tier Drop" links in my signature), I did not want to fight for missing parts, so back to the store it went. So now I wonder, why are the trailers so scarce at my local stores (2 within 12 mi, 4 in larger metro area) and not listed on-line????

I see you are in Virginia. I just went on the HF site and they have them in stock in my local store but I did see a disclaimer stating they were not available in Louisiana and West Virginia

Today if I try this link
https://www.harborfreight.com/1720-lbs-capacity-48-in-x-96-in-super-duty-folding-trailer-62647.html
it goes to a page that says "Purchase In Store Only". Yesterday all I got was error messages. When I search trailers from their search box, I still get no trailers other than a garden tractor model. Maybe I am seeing 'in-process' changes to curtail online purchases??

Humm... you have a way of checking stock at your local HF store??
I've seen local stock checks for Home Depot and Lowes, but never for HF. The only way I know to check local stock is to call (or visit) the store. Do you sign-in as a member or such?

I called every day to see if they had any in stock last month when they were on sale: NADA! And no rain checks. Why put something on sale if you have no stock?
