Found a VIN?

Postby Melle.17 » Wed Jan 20, 2021 7:47 pm

I've started cleaning up the metal on the trailer and scraping away crud. Scraped away enough to find what looks like a VIN stamped on the frame. It's only 15 alpha/numeric digits so I'm guessing it's pretty old. Is there any way to see what the VIN can tell me? Knowing my luck I look into it and find it's stolen...lol
Edit... cleaned up more and it is 17 numbers/letters. Hard to read though but ran what I think it is and it's not stolen. Was hoping it would tell me more about it but can't seem to find any VIN decipher things that fit this VIN... oh well. HOpefully having a VIN already will make it easier, not harder, to register.

Vins should be decodeable to the manufacture. it should be searchable.

Here in the middle of nowhere, I could call the sheriff’s office and they’d come out and do a VIN inspection in an hour or two.
