Rust Bullet??

Postby IndyTom » Mon Mar 06, 2006 8:30 pm

I looked at the Rust Bullet website and its looks pretty good. My question is, where can you buy it? Or do you have to order it directly from the company. I saw the link where they are looking for distributors, but not one that links to existing distributors.

I bought mine directly from them. A quart was more than plenty for my frame.

Thanks asianflava, I guess that is what I will do as well if I go the Rust Bullet route.

Tom,
You gotta buy it direct from the company...
I used it and it sticks great... Took about a week to wear off of my hands.
Let me say this... They tout the stuff as being a great ahession promoter.
I elected to topcoat over it with brown hammerite. Hammerite said to test adhession if shooting it over another paint or coating.... Rust Bullet touted that you could topcoat it with any paint or coating without any sanding, if you shot the topcoat before 72 hours and not sooner than 24 hours of applying final coat of Rust Bullet.
I was pressed for time, so I didn't do a test, just put my trust in their claim...
The hammerite didn't stick worth crap... I shot it after letting the Rust Bullet cure for 24 hrs.
I can chip the stuff (Hammerite) off with my fingernail.
So be wise if your gonna topcoat over the Rust Bullet...
BTW- Rust Bullet only comes in one color... Metalic Grey

I ordered it direct too. They are great about sending you info you ask for via email. Their coverage for it goes a lot farther than they say if you spray it. I went by their claims, and calculated I'd need more than a quart, so I ordered a quart and a half pint. I still have part of the quart and the unopened half pint after spraying two coats on everything, including my coupler and jack stand. And, my frame is 5' x 9' plus a bumper. I love the silver gray color and won't to coat mine with anything else. You can see mine and another on this thread that are coated with it.

Thanks for all the replies.I guess I will get some ordered this afternoon. How long was the delivery time? Are you still going to undercoat the trailer with roof mastic too?

I undercoated my wood floor with roof coating, but not the metal. I did the floor, let it dry, then put it on the trailer frame. I can't find my tracking info, but I believe the order came about 4 days afterplacing the order...not more than 5 days..
