Changing Hubs on HF Trailer

Postby Gary T » Wed Mar 15, 2006 1:07 pm

I remeber reading a thread about replacing the hubs on the HF Foldable trailer with the 12 in rims. I have tried to find the thread but have been unable to.
What was the answer?
If I wanted to switch to a speed rated hub and tire would I have to change the whole axel/hub assembly or could I just change the hubs?
Or should I just cross my fingers stay with the hubs it came with and go with a bigger rim?

Help

Unless you really want to change all that stuff, run what ya got. It's a spindle, bearings and a hub, it'll go as fast as you want, just make sure the grease is good and you shouldn't have any trouble. The tires will work too tho I prefer at least 14" myself.

Mate of mine used to own a utility trailer with 12" wheels and he would regularly tow it at 80m.p.h. without any problems with a full load of camping gear on board. Maybe you don't need to change anything.
