Brand new to Tear drops

Postby Tcurr » Thu Aug 23, 2007 9:45 pm

Was driving along the other day and saw a semi full of these and thought those are really neat. What an awsome site this is. Well we have camped for many many years and have always talked about getting a camper. When I saw this site It was all said and done my garage will now be project central. I am sure I will be asking many many questions as I am a very novice wood worker but love to dive in. I actually have a corn hole business making custom cornhole boards for people.

Anyway I plan on purchasing a trailor at HF within 3 weeks and getting started. I live in Ohio so seems like a wonderful winter project. Even have the lovely wife on board, she saw them and said Hey we can make one of those.

I am sure I will be asking plenty of questions and very much appriciate any and all help as I work my way thru.
My Idea of plans are a tape measure, a saw and a dream.

I was gonna agree with Doug on this....I started typing a question a couple of times...then I was going to ask for pictures and definitely decided against that request.

Edit: By the way welcome to the board!

Image To the playground Tom. Do you and your wife know what profile you like? Three weeks is a good amount of time for planning. Took me three months.

Enjoy the site and :pictures: :pictures: :pictures: Game board pictures are welcome too. 8)

Welcome to our world .... you'll LOVE it here and with the teardrop camping folks...... They're the BEST!!!

My advice.... it's nice that you've seen one, but if you can - get to one and actually walk around, ask questions, take pictures, open doors, lay down, pick up the hatch..... any teardrop owner will gladly show theirs off to you !!!

Come camping with us !
Some things are way over my head !! ...but it keeps me looking UP!

I seen some people playing this up by my seasonal camper....they had a football version....looked very fun and something the kids would be safer with instead of the lawn darts I let them play with now!!!

They are very easy to make. I use 4x2 oak or berch sanded plywood.
The holes are 6 inch, 9 inch to center from top, 6 from side.
I use 1.5 x1.5 for frame and legs. Bags are 6 inch.
set boards 26ft. apart and toss away. Scoring is 3 points for in the hole 1 point for on board, play to 21. scoring cancels so only one team scores
I will try to set up some info on rules scoring etc on here for you guys and exact plans but have a show tonight so need to get busy finishing boards.

My tailgater would be great for camping as you play at half the distance. Exactly half the dimensions of the big ones execpt 4 in hole since bags at 3 inch dont have the give the big ones do.

Here is a link to rules etc. http://www.playcornhole.org/rules.shtml

Tom, have you ever played ladder golf. It's kind of like what you make but insted of boards you use pvc pipe and golf balls tied together. I have only played this game once at a family reunion and it was prety fun. I have been meaning to make one for a while but I can't remember how the goals are made.

I was just wondering.
