North West Web Foot here!

Postby WebFoot » Tue Jan 15, 2008 7:30 pm

Hello All, my name is Frank, Im calling out from Tacoma, WA.
Ive been reading this forum off & on since late 06 when I decied I just had to build a teardrop, but am just now getting ready to start my 1st build on a HF 1740 trailer 18 months later.
Ive gotten alot of great info from here, from some very smart & crafty builders, but still much to learn !
Thanks everyone for having me aboard.

Thanks Mandy, Mike & John!
John, what I have planned??...well Ive tossed & turned on this one for a while. My conclusion is I really like the full'r design of the "Mini-Hopper" from the design page. I want to have the conventional tear drop, rounded front end however and a small duck-lip type trailing edge on the upper rear, for both slight function at freeway speed and a bit of flair! I believe this is obtainable with my skill level. Im a better then average wood worker, welder, car wrencher, etc.
Im not certain if I want side doors (2) or 1 center rear door, my galley will be accessable from the inside and will be really simple microwave/cooler set up, since I cant really cook. The foam bed will fold up in / against the front, in order to gain some floor space, and I hope to skin with white 030 aluminum unless I can find RV plastic/fiberglass locally.
I have the HF #1740 trailer coming by truck this week and am gathering small items as I go. Grabbed a set of slide vented, tinted safety glass windows with trim, this past week which I am jazzed about!
I'll learn to get pics going on here and hope to someday be able to get an album going like those from the rest of you, that Ive stared at forever!
Thanks again for the welcome!

Hi Frank, and Welcome to the web.

If you are interested in a NW gathering in the Redwoods this July, please check out the IRG 2.0 link listed below. You are welcome to come whether you have a teardrop completed or not. Hope you'll enjoy the planning process, but I know you'll especially enjoy the finished Teardrop.
