I’ve been following the forum for a couple of weeks now and decided to jump in with both feet. Yesterday I bought my hitch for the car. I’m building the Cub or the Grumman for 2. I can get a 3500lb. axle and springs for $179.00. Would this cause me grief, with damage after the trailer is built because of the stiffness? Your opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Rick

Image to the playground Rick. Sounds like a good price however---it is over the top unless you are building real big..

You can remove springs to deal with the stiffness but why pull all that weight around.

Good luck and I bet the experts will be in here momentarily.

Now don't forget the :pictures: :pictures: :pictures: :designing:  :hammer: Gotta keep the bubble oil level.

Hi Rick,

Welcome to the forum...

I believe the 3500# axle was discussed just recently. Let me see if I can find the thread...

Mike...

Edit: there is a lot of discussion on 3500# axles, but this seems to be a good one...

Rick...you can get the 3500# axle and put whatever springs you want on it. I use that axle with a 4" drop on all of my tears. Spring it how you want. Doug
