A special something for those of you in New Mexico, here's something from the professor of guitar studies at the University of New Mexico to play in the background (another tab or window) while perusing the forum:

Hi Prem,

That long single axle 'trailer' you posted is actually an "ice fishing shack" -
a commercial version, obviously. The wheel well is so large because the
wheels retract up and into it [by winch I believe, or air bag or hydralics etc.]
so that the bottom of the unit can sit on the ice and they can open up the
floor hatches to drill their fishing holes in the ice. Google "Ice shacks", or
"Ice fishing shacks" or "Ice fishing shacks on wheels",or "fish houses", and
click on the Google 'images' selection under the search term area, and you
will be amazed at all the designs and approaches that are done. You can
even buy a complete chassis to build your own. They're another good
inspiration/idea-source for TTTs or outfitting a CT. Not much use for
them in Baja though, I'd say.

Norm,

Ah ha! You are so right! Makes sense now. And you're also right about it not working on the beaches of mainland Mexico.

Sure is a pretty trailer/ice hut though. I wish them 'thick ice.'

WARNING

Guys, over the last month I became a victim of a clever scam while out shopping. Simply going out to get trailer-building supplies has turned out to be quite hazardous. Don't be naive enough to think it couldn't happen to you or your buddies.

Here's how the scam works:

Two seriously good-looking 20-something girls come over to your vehicle as you are packing your purchases into the back. They both start cleaning your windshield with a rag and a spray bottle, wearing skimpy, unbuttoned blouses and super-short shorts. When you thank them and offer them a tip, they say 'No,' and instead ask you for a ride to the closest bank with an ATM. You agree and they get in to the back seat. On the way, one of them starts undressing, climbs over into the front seat and starts crawling all over you, while the other one steals your wallet.

I had my wallet stolen November 4th, 9th, 10th, twice on the 15th, and again on the 17th, 20th, 24th & 26th, two times today and very likely again tomorrow.

P.S. WallyWorld has wallets on sale for 2.99. ;)

I went out and bought a box full of wallets, and drove around... never any luck in finding those poor girls, and my windshield is so dirty!

The two-story trailer features a cinema, a lounge bar and offices, as well as a full-sized kitchen, large bedroom and bathroom.

I could call that home, parked on the river or sea shore, with a money tree or two for gas, food, and tackle.

Jim,

 Which one? The hippie one with the woodstove or the King-of-the-World one parked in Manhattan?

Oh, the hippie with the wood stove for sure. That king of the world is way overkill. Im still thinking 7x14 is perfect for long term use.

The hippie one looks very cozy. Wonder what the other end of it looks like?
