6x10 Cargo Mate Challenger

Howdy all. A few years back I started a build thread for a TD here. Due to work and life I haven’t been able to get that going.

Yesterday I ordered a 6x10 Cargo Mate Blazer. Rear ramp door, Rv style ( now a standard feature in the Blazer models) curb side door. It should be ready in about 6 weeks, right in time for schools out trips.

We off grid camp most of the time. I will be installing solar panels but not until after summer.

All of our cooking is done outside so no kitchen needed.

I plan on keeping it pretty simple. On the exterior I will be adding a roof rack as I haul canoes and kayaks. I am also going to add an ARB awning with the zip on wall kit.

Interior I will add a folding bench on each side at the rear with removable table. The table will drop down to form one large bed.

The floor I will be covering with Rustoleums roll on bed liner. I will run that up the walls 1’ too. Walls I will paint.

Interior lighting will be battery powered puck lights.

I plan on insulating. But probably not until after summer. I also will add a window at some point.

Well due to a miscommunication with dealer and manufacturer the model is not the blazer. It’s the Challenger series.

It’s a bit smaller height wise which is fine and lighter weight which is even better for my current tow rig.



It will have RV latch on curb door no extra charge.

Waiting is really hard to do. Trailer is in production and should be here mid June. So that won't stop camping!

Spent a few nights in the woods last weekend.







There was a civil war re-enactment going on at an old ranch so we checked that out



Wouldn't be camping without roasting hot dogs!



Might as well hot tub when camping!

Won’t be giving up the wall tent! It will still get used. It may even become a ramp tent, a really big one!

So can you give some 411 on the tub set up? I see the heat exchanger but I can't tell what you are heating it with. Is it that hot dog stove? Inquiring minds want to know.

I think I found it. The Nomad Collapsible Tub. Very nifty idea. I can see where that would be perfect after a day of white water rafting or even water skiing. You just use a little 2-stroke pump to fill it? And propane to heat. Not really roughin' it, but a man's gotta live a little. A glass of Jameson and a cigar and 30 min. in the tub, you're a new person. ... ...

Not in Georgia, but I’ve always been a fan of the Dirt band!

Yes the Nomad tub. It’s a friends. They wanted it to heat up fast, hence the propane.

Towed her home today. Well balanced didn’t even push the 2005 RAV down at all when we hitched it up.

Towed nicely at all speeds from 0-65.

Now time to go camping!

Two of us used two 2 gallon buckets and had it filled in about ten minutes.

We spent a good 30-40 minutes discussing all kinds of ways to fill it that didn’t involve those buckets. Had we just started filling it with the buckets we would’ve been done way faster! Sometimes over engineering doesn’t make sense!

Yes, now that you mention it I do remember a time when manual labor could get almost any job done. Good thinking...
I guess I did not know they had re -enactments of The War of Northern Aggression in Oregon. I just assumed since a lot of trailers are made there.
