Aww Man,
That looks great. I need that. What a relaxed, quiet, warm place to be. I feel better already.
Thanks Don.

Great video! That bat house was awesome. Bats are great for thinning the mosquito population.

Thanks for sharing your trip.

Thanks... and you guys are welcome. Just learning this video editing software and figuring it all out. I want to video log each place I go and have to start somewhere.

Maybe I'll do a short video of Bikeweek this weekend. ;-)

Packing up for Bike week this morning and installed the remote solar controller monitor for the 30A MPPT charge controller connected to the rear 300w array I recently installed. Those 8 100W panels kick in great when in the sun. I still think it is cool to be able to run my AC straight up without draining the batteries in full sun. I never get to do that however, as I am usually camping in a shady Oak Hammock. I guess I'll have the opportunity this summer on the way out to South Dakota for Sturgis 2020.

Loaded the Kingpin up. Tried something different this time. Instead of raising the bed, I left it where it is at and just snapped off the batwing (literally takes 5 seconds) and put it in the back seat of the pickup. Less chance for banging it up and etc. and it gives about 4-5 inches of clearance back. I also had to take the mirrors off and put them in the saddle bags. That took about a minute. :-)

I think this will also allow the drop down drawer under the bed to be accessed on the road and that will be important when the Mrs. is on board.

What do you mean drop down drawer? Can you post a photo of this? I picture a drawer that pulls out of the bottom of the bed. But....

Thanks

Hey Don,
Man, that's just a beautiful rig. Good luck and have a great time at Daytona. I hear this year it's tater salad wrestling for the ladies. Oh lawd, I wish I could be there. But if you just happen to get a pic of the tater pit and send my way, I would surely buy you a Jameson at Sturgis. I gotta get back to Dixie someday.
So, in the photo above looking at the Victory loaded without the fairing, I swear I see two smiling faces in those helmets on the bed?!! Crazy... now I need a Jameson.
Have fun y'all.

Thanks McDave. I hope all is well with you. Heading out for a nice ride this morning. Been good so far. Was at the Iron Horse last evening. Weather has been almost perfect (50s at night and low 70s during day) but just little windy at night. I had to get up at 3am and pull in my awing last night (or this morning however you look at it). Awning was fine, but it rattles right by my head and I could not sleep.

I am getting some good video I will share when I get time to process it. Some good people watching here last night. Just good folks have a good time. :)

can you still park inside the ironhorse saloon? when is was there in '86 you could drive up the narrow ramp into the rear entrance. :)

Yes, you can still park inside. When we got there is was too full so we parked in a lot next door.

Don
Quick bed question: Is the frame doubled up 2x6's? What is your overall height from the top of the mattress to the bottom of the frame?

Thanks

I used 2x4s, so stack up is the width of a 2x4 + half inch plywood deck, + 4 inch foam mattress. 3.5in + .5in + 4 in = 8 inches.

Hope this helps.

Anyone using these tire temperature and pressure monitors on thier CTC? I like to keep an eye on trailer tire pressures and temperature. This system seems to have reviews that indicate it works well. I guess I can take a chance for less than 40 bucks. The TV has this function already built in.

Hey Don,
Do you just set that unit on the dash? It says solar powered but I see it has batteries as well.
Ran across some pics. you might find interesting. These are from the first Buffalo Chip picnic. It has come a long way since then.
