I figured the dark wood would look good in contrast to the white.

Looks awesome and might have solved my what to do for the walls quandary. I assume you used some trowel on adhesive to make it stick.

Thanks. I did not use a trowel, but rolled it the best I could. It has its own adhesive backing.I didn't want to actually use liquid nails or etc. to glue it more in case I ever want to take it off. I had a hard enough time getting the existing paneling off where I used some panel adhesive. I actually nailed it also with some tiny brad finish nails. You can't see them as I drove them in on dark spots and they are flush.

I wouldn't want this particular stuff all over the walls, but for an accent as I did in this case for a repair.. I think it is okay.

I still have to paint the window frame and caulk the trim, but it is all up. Ran out of time today.

Now working on making a safe place for the dog if I leave her in the trailer for short periods. As a pup I need her contained somehow so she cannot chew Cabinet doors and etc. When mature, she can have the run of the place.

Mmmm... I like it. There was a lot of white in there, so a little wood might give a bit of a masculine touch to that area. Not toxic, just a touch. Might be a nice place to enjoy a cigar and glass of Jameson.
Nice work Don. Counting down those days huh? Just try to steer clear of the knuckleheads out there right now. Head on a swivel, aware of your surroundings. Probably best to avoid the major population centers if possible.
Good luck, be safe..

flboy, Howdy;

Don, DANG that looks great! Breaks up all that white very nicely.

Yea, gettin' Miss Lexi a "Safe place" is really important. Thoughts???

Thanks Hank. I am getting a portable wire dog pen that is 42" high and made out of 8-24" panels that are hinged together. One panel is actually a door. You can configure a square, rectangle, etc.. or even remove a few panels. In any case, I am going to set it up in the garage area or kitchen area depending on how I am loaded. I also have some old moving blankets I will drape on the sides to cushion it against walls. My aisle way is 24.4" and the narrowest point, so I can make a run that opens up at the dining area if the MC is in the back. It arrives friday, so I will try a few configurations to see what fits best. The good thing is that it folds up flat for storage. It will likely be stored in the pickup bed.

I anticipate when Lex is older, I will not need it.. but puppies cannot be trusted alone for any length of time.

I really did not like the idea of a 110VAC fan and water getting together, so I bought a rechargeable DC fan and put the mister jets on it.

Much safer or less hazardous.. however you want to look at it.

Appropriate name for the fan aayy! Lol

Another mod. Bidet.. don't knock it unless you've tried it!!

Also useful for rinsing the bowl if there happens to be any aftermath!

Modified a $19 residential model and connected directly to water line instead of paying $59.00 for a cheap kit to put onto the Dometic toilet. It has some pressure!

No worries if there is another run on TP, eh? It always pays to be fresh. Might be an invigorating way to wake up, who needs coffee?

The shower walls are in. I glued FRP paneling (it is fiberglass reinforced plastic ) on to the underlayment. You can get 4'*8' sheets at Lowe's or Home depot. I also decided to use a piece to cover the plywood Triangle that I incorporated into the shower for some extra elbow room. The FRP was easy to work with. It cuts well with a razor knife and is waterproof. You probably can't tell from the pictures, but the FRP paneling has a nice non-slip texture on the front side.

Don, when you installed your FRP in shower, did your FRP backing overhang the shower pan to where the FRP went straight down into pan? My shower pan has a lip which makes it look like i need to make backing come over the edge of shower pan so FRP would go straight into the pan. I have the Specialty Recreation 24x32 shower pan.

Thanks,
Harry

My FRP went over the edge of the pan. There was a lip and the FRP went in about 1/2 " which is the way I think it is suppose to. No problems so far.

Thanks. Btw, how did you transition your plywood triangle into the shower pan? Neat idea for the extra elbow room. :)

It has been a few years, but as I recall, the triangle piece of wood and FRP I covered the plywood with came just to the edge of the pan and the same height. I then caulked the seam with a high quality non-shrinking Silicone sealer and leveled it off flat. After that cured, I put a 1/2" piece of 1/16 thick vinyl strip over the joint and then used more silicone adhesive to glue to the top of joint and seal. The strip is intended to protect the water seal. Since this is very non standard and I was worried it could leak at some point, I put a vent (access) on the shower so I can keep an eye on the drain seal, plumbing and this joint. Almost 4 years, many bumpy forest roads and no leaks. Looks perfect.

In reality, this area is just seeing a little water splash. After the shower, I take my foot and push off any water into the shower that is retained by the small lip. It seems to dry on its own quickly after showers. So far so good and the extra room is worth the small risk that I may have to redo some caulking down the road. I think the key is to seal with a high quality silicone (non-shrinking) caulk. It seems to work well and also forms the seal on that triangle piece to the wall. Once a year, I take off the vent and look in underneath. I have a lot going on under the shower with the drain and the plumbing lines that run up from to the kitchen and gray water return so the inspection is just part of normal maintenance in my book.

Not sure how I would do it differently if I had to do over.

Thanks for the detailed info; sounds like you did it right, no leaks! Good idea to have that access panel for checking under it. Appreciate the info!

Ok, here's my solution for a puppy safe place while I am out for a few hours or so. Leave the AC running from the batteries/inverter or shore power if available. Turn on the stereo for some background noise. Unfold this in aisle way, or if the bike is out, it can take up the whole back end. It is 42" tall and very sturdy. Lexus will be comfortable and will not be able to get into things. It literally only takes a minute to set up or take down and it stores well on the etrac.

The 8 panels are 24 inches wide so the are many ways to configure for just about any shape..one panel is a latched door and if you want to make it smaller... you can double up on panels. Very versatile for sure. I could set this up outside under the awning also to give her a run if I am out and about camp or just want to confine her while am doing something. I also have a cable run for that, but that doesn't keep other animals from her.

So what does Lexus think of it? She tried it out yet? Might also consider posting something like this on trailer, God forbid something happening but that way folks will know a dog is inside. https://www.amazon.com/Pet-Alert-Sticke ... B071693Z3R
