So I froze my ass off hunting, tracked a few singles, and only found a couple of cows and bears. But I rode some awesome trails, and had to leave without meat and a rack this year. The blizzard came in the second day and the insulation I installed held true with the Mr. Heater running on low all night. I had the vent cracked about a 1/2 inch and had no propane smell. The heat stayed. I layered my clothes during the day, mostly by 4. That kept the cold at bay down the track trail. The first real test of the 5 gallon holding tank worked like a charm. With gallon jugs of water I was able to use the pooper, and it lasted the whole time up there. I was able to flush the tank at a rest stop in Wyoming. So thumbs up on that gem and not freezing my tooshie off in the snow. Can't wait for the next adventure!!!

NICE !!!!
Hey glad you are back. Nice camp. So the CTC worked well then. Outstanding, you did some great work there.
It looks pretty good going down the road. If you can stay warm and dry and sleep comfortably, and handle your business, that's win, win, win, win. Perfect. Nice job

Put a total of 4900 ish on my CTC. Three weeks of camping, four nights full hook up, the test primitive. Was a great trip!

MAC33,
Great Photos!

Thank you for posting the photo of your awning. I been thinking about the same setup using PVC pipe. Any advice or more details on how you did yours?

I tried pvc... Word of advice... Go aluminum or metal, pvc gets brittle in the sun... And flexes in the wind... I can't remember who has a bad a** awning, might be McDave??? Not sure... But he put together an awning I'm sure to replicate in the near future.

Thanks MAC33.

Please see if you can post more detailed photos of the awning if you have the time.

Yeah it is McDave who built the best awning I've seen to date. Image

This is his... From his post... You should check out his thread... It gets more in detail there.

Hey MAC,
McDave here. I would love to take credit for that work, but it's not mine. It is however very badass.
It belongs to nunrleft. He gives the source for fittings and such and it is a very helpful site.
But, Thanks for thinking about me. I've been thinking about you too.... 8) ...just sayin..

Thank you MAC33.

I've seen that one. I'm still more curious about your awning and how it's hooked to the trailer. :worship:

I used truck tie down rings, with a galvanized pipe ran through them. Then tent poles at the other end of the tarp. ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

Thanks a million MAC33.

The 'truck tie down rings' was what interested me the most. Very clean and strong.
