Teardrops n Tiny Travel Trailers

Here I have installed the piece which the roof will hang from. The metal angle brackets are attached to each end to counter any torsion on the piece because it's attached edge wise.

I used 4 inch long sill hanger screws to attach it to the wall.

In one of the pics you can see the cut out for the future ducting of the AC into the room when the door is closed.

Here's the roof in place for dry fitting.

The rocks are on the gate for added weight, I added a few extra turns to the spring to counter the additional weight I was about to add to it and it kept raising up while I was trying to work!

This is the underside of the roof, I had taken it back off so I could trim a bit off to make it clear the cables better.

What you see me attaching to it is a ramp cleat for the end wall to rest against which I'll show you in a later post.

With the roof back in place I started attacking the rear wall which is the next piece of the puzzle.

Here in this close-up you can see how I arranged the connection between the floor and wall, I'm hoping the 1/2" rise will be enough to provide a water break and keep water from intruding in the space.

I'm admiring the thought and work you are puttin' into your back deck. Have you considered
the amount of extra weight you are asking the springs and cables to lift and drop safely?

I am to a degree Hankaye. When I detached the cabling to rework the pulleys I got to experience the door's weight with out the aid of them and it was already ridiculously heavy. The only things that are going to be additionally attached to it are the rear wall and 1/2" subfloor and I recon I've added 150-200 additional pounds for it to help lift.

And here's the roof raised and locked in position on the rear wall!

I was running out of daylight last night but I couldn't resist cutting out one side panel and fitting it!

In one of the pics you can see the side panel is leaned up beside the door opening, it's my intention that they will be stored here when not in use. The way I have this configuration set up we can erect the roof and end wall and treat it as an awning deck without putting the sides in place hence the use of all exterior materials
