Not to sidetrack GoneFishin's thread, but I thought I would mention the tie points I put in for my hammock. I put them in one side of the front and one in the back on the opposite side. I placed them so that I got at least 3 screws in to the metal ribs and top rail.



Here is a picture of my hammock when I was just starting my build. I can and do still hang it to kickback in.

I've been in a few hammocks, but I just need a solid mattress. I'm old, and bent, and need to stretch out and fidget. Also nice to have the mattress to sit up on to read, sit on to get dressed/undressed, relax, etc. The memory foam mattress in my trailer is the highlight of the whole thing. Its actually the main reason I converted a trailer in the first place. Everything else is just a bonus because I have the room.

I have to agree with you. The mattress is very convenient and warmer too. I like the hammock for lounging in when it is hot out, but it also takes up too much room to leave it up in the CT. Only takes a second and a snap to take it down though.

Now I usually hang it outside in the shade. It was a great option in the CT for the period before I had my bed built.

I second the "being too old, bent" part. It's why I made the leap from tent camping to a CTC. I wanted the mattress for my back and legs, it was a must have. The other things I"ve added to mine have all been to make everything easier on us and it makes a world of difference in how well we enjoy our trips now.
I like the solar panel and the heater you've added to your rig.

Finally reached a day off and took a few minutes to put in my 3/8" foam floor tiles. I should have done this on day one! They're comfortable, but not too soft. Not slippery, but not sticky either, just good footing. I know they're going to keep the cold from coming through the floor, and keep more of my heat inside. They look pretty good, although I'll still put my throw rugs over them as I had them before the foam. It took about 20 minutes to clear out my trailer floor and quickly sponge mop it, and about 20 to install and fit the 2X2 tiles. I had to cut them on one side to fit. But every tile fits like a perfect puzzle. Easiest thing I've done in there!

Very observant! Yep, I screwed that one up. But hey, it looks like a welcome mat, right? Besides, my "trout" throw rug will cover it.

How does it hold-up to the dog's toenails?

I haven't let them in to test it yet, but all the reviews on Amazon (there's a ton of them!) all say the toenails will put little holes in it. For that reason, I will also keep my rugs on top of it to reduce or eliminate that. It doesn't really seem that durable, and they even say its not for "high traffic" areas, but I wanted it more for insulation than anything else. The cushioning factor is just a bonus.

Well, a little update for the foam floor tiles. I've just spent the past 6 nights where overnight temperatures have been in the high 30's and low 40's, with some rain some nights. Cool enough to fire up the furnace on low for a while. While I have no scientific test for youknowwho, I can say just from experience they make a difference. The floor is certainly warmer and more comfortable to walk on, and I've had to shut the furnace off several times because even on low it got too warm! There is no "cold spot" down there anymore. It won't be until September when I get to test it on 20-degree nights, but so far, it's warmer inside at these outside temperatures both with and without the furnace running.

I still have my original throw-rugs over the top of it, so the dog's claws are not a factor. I probably won't even consider trying to insulate under the trailer. Enough should be enough. It was a rather inexpensive upgrade to the floor that accomplished more warmth and comfort. I don't even want my shoes on in here any more!
