Looking good, your moving much faster than I did . It took me over a year do get mine to the point where it is. I do a lot of tent camping with the boy scouts, so it wasn't really a priority but the ground seems like it's getting harder and harder .

Great project. I'm looking for a 5x8 trailer just like yours to do a very similar project. Also was wondering if you still have your 240z? I just sold mine and moved down to St. Louis so my cargo trailer project will keep me busy like my Datsun did.

Still have the Z... doing the minor body work in order to paint it (same stock color yellow)...

Progress over the past 5 days:

Painted the interior floor and walls white.

Laid down a thick rubber floor mat (it is one that is used in pick-up beds).

Cleaned up and primed metal roof in preparation for Kool Seal tomorrow.

Bolted 1x4s to the inside walls. They will hold D rings that will be where I hook the ratchet straps that will hold the big tires up against the walls.

Installed silver/styrofoam insulation into roof alcoves.

First run with the cargo/camper was a success... I have a little tweaking to do: formalize the bed platform arrangement (I just slept on a futon on top of a slab of plywood that was resting on 6 Rubbermaid tubs), trim the windows, redo the screens, give the roof another couple of coats and maybe buff or paint the exterior... but in general it worked out very well.

5 nights of dry camping, flashlights and a small LED lantern did the trick inside... easy peasy!

Got a lot of attention from the tent crowd... they didn't know if it was great or just weird and redneck... I told them to give it some thought next time it is pouring rain and we are out there setting up camp... them in their tents and me in the trailer...
